TSP700II – Troubleshoot

In this article we will go through how to troubleshoot the TSP700II printer.

1. Troubleshoot in Control Panel

First, check that the printer is online. This can easily be checked by opening up the Control Panel and going to Devices and Printers.

  1. The printer icon should not be greyed out.
  2. Read more about different status below.

1.1 Out of paper

This status is shown when the printer is out of paper, or the printer is not detecting the paper.

  1. Check that the roll has not run out.
  2. Check that the paper has been inserted correctly.

1.2 Door open

This status is shown when the printer cover is open.

  1. Ensure that the printer cover is closed.

1.3 Paper jam

This status is shown when the paper has gotten stuck.

  1. Check that the paper has been inserted correctly.

2. Troubleshoot in VisitLog

2.1 Wrong printer/badge selected

Please make sure that you have selected the correct printer in VisitLog. To do so follow the steps below.

  1. Open VisitLog Manager and go to Administration.
  1. Go to Local settings.
  1. Select Star TSP700II (TSP743II) out of the list and save. Also ensure that the correct badge template is selected.
